HELP HOMEOWNERS AVOID FORECLOSURE

In a short sale transaction, homeowners sell their property for less than the mortgage amount while eluding foreclosure and even bankruptcy. A short sale is much less impactful on their credit scores than a foreclosure or bankruptcy. Now, more than ever before, lenders are willing to consider short sales because they are much less costly to manage than foreclosures. According to the National Association of Realtors®, more than 45 percent of existing home sales in the fourth quarter of 2008 were foreclosures or short sales.
